Recovery Ride: SundayJoin the Community Light Foundation for the Ride to Remember Black Wall Street, a cycling event honoring the legacy of Tulsa's historic Greenwood District, once known as Black Wall Street. This ride commemorates the victims and survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre while celebrating the resilience, entrepreneurship, and determination of the Black community that built one of America's most prominent African American business districts.
This bike ride features routes ranging from 15 to 75 miles that highlight Tulsa and the Black Wall Street area. The beautiful yet challenging routes will take bikers by Skiatook Lake and Sperry on the way back. In addition, a special “recovery ride” will take place on Sunday. Learn about one of Oklahoma's most pivotal points in history while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
More than a bike ride, this event is an opportunity to connect cycling with history, education, and community engagement. Riders come together to remember the past, recognize the strength of those who rebuilt Greenwood, and ensure that these important stories continue to be shared with future generations.
